Igneous Supermoto carbon 159 Snowboard Review 2018-2019

Description

TESTER: Daniel LeRoy

BOARD: Igneous Supermoto carbon 159

OVERALL IMPRESSION FROM  1 TO 7:  4

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: High energy, light

WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: Too tight a radius for stability at speeds where you start to engage the carbon, and not fat enough to prevent boot drag at higher turn angles that engage the carbon at lower speeds

OVERALL COMMENTS: Good execution, but the carbon stiffness/shape relationship seems to make the sweet spot better for a small footed high energy rider

RATE THE SHAPE FROM 1 TO 7:  3

SHAPE COMMENT: NOT VERY HOT

ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS:  Traditional shape, found myself wanting a longer radius or fatter waist

RATE THE FLEX FROM 1 TO 7:   OK

FLEX COMMENT:  TOO STIFF

ADDITIONAL FLEX COMMENT:  For my rider/body type, flex just didn’t match up with shape well

RATE STABILITY THROUGH TURNS FROM 1 TO 7:   6

STABILITY COMMENT: PRETTY GOOD

ADDITIONAL STABILITY COMMENTS: Locked in on turns, did what was asked of it, didn’t feel fragile like other carbons

RATE THE POP/ PLAYFULNESS FROM 1 TO 7:  5

COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS:

ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS:  Plenty of energy here, just not quite right shape for me to harness it all

RATE FLOAT IN POW FROM 1 TO 7:

COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW:

ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW:

RATE THE GRAPHICS FROM 1 TO 7:  OK

GRAPHICS COMMENT: OK

ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS COMMENTS: Honest carbon, looks like an igneous

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SAY: Good execution, just seemed tuned for not me
