Bataleon Surfer 159 Snowboard Review 2018-2019
Description
TESTER: Rob Kingwill
BOARD: Bataleon Surfer 159
OVERALL IMPRESSION FROM 1 TO 7: 5
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: Unique shape
WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: The tail splines are way too soft, and it feels like it is really grindy at the entry point of the sidecut in the nose on hardpack.
OVERALL COMMENTS: This board is ok- the swallowtail is cut super deep, which I thought would be fun in pow, but it didn’t really shine because the tines are so soft. Adjusting where the early rise meets the sidecut could help with the grinding. It also probably needed a fresh wax job.
RATE THE SHAPE FROM 1 TO 7: 6
SHAPE COMMENT: FUN TO LOOK AT
ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS: Cool concept board, the 3D base is ok, but almost takes away from the lift of the nose in pow. The tail needs to be way stiffer, and the transition for the early rise in the nose could be longer and smoother.
