Gentemstick Mountain racer 154 SNOWBOARD REVIEW 2016
Description
TESTER: Brent Fullerton
BOARD: Gentemstick Mountain racer 154
OVERALL IMPRESSION FROM 1 TO 10: 8
OVERALL COMMENTS: Quick and surfy
RATE THE SHAPE FROM 1 TO 5: 4
SHAPE COMMENT: Condition specific shape performs best in soft snow. The lack of sidecut makes it hard to grip an edge on steeper hard pack and icy conditions but allows you to plane around in soft snow. The quick edge to edge transitions in powder offer a fun short board surfy style of riding
RATE THE FLEX FROM 1 TO 5: 4
FLEX COMMENT: A softer flex is perfect for a board that excels in soft snow. Good torsional flex for quick turns
RATE STABILITY THROUGH TURNS: 3
STABILITY THROUGH TURNS: Good stability in soft snow and lower angle terrain. I found it to be unstable and unable to hold an edge on steeper, hard pack terrain at higher speeds
RATE THE GRAPHICS FROM 1 TO 5: 5
GRAPHICS COMMENT: All gentem graphics are rad because they fit the simplistic design of the boards
RATE THE POP/ PLAYFULNESS FROM 1 TO 5: 5
COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS: Softer flex doesn’t have much pop. Incredibly playful in the soft snow and lower angle hard pack/ groomers
RATE FLOAT IN POW IF AVAILABLE FROM 1 TO 5: 5
COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: Flat camber, set back stance, and a large nose with early rise combine to give this board max float
