GRASSROOTS SLASHER POWSURFER REVIEW 2018-2019
Description
TESTER: Chris Pearson
BOARD BRAND: Grassroots
MODEL NAME: Slasher
SIZE: 140
OVERALL IMPRESSION: RADICAL
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD? Couldn’t believe how natural it felt to carve powder turns with no bindings
WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD? That I couldn’t spend more time on it
OVERALL COMMENTS: Felt a little deeper and more connected with the snow and board than with the larger surface area of the flying carpet. The tail punched into the snow a bit more so I had a little bit better control over speed and inspired a bit more confidence to turn harder and make some tighter slashes.
BOARD STYLE: POWSURF BOARD
CONDITIONS TESTED IN: POWDER
RATE THE SHAPE (1 TO 7): RADICAL
SHAPE COMMENTS: AT THING OF BEAUTY
ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS: More maneuverable in thinner snowpack than the flying carpet
RATE THE FLEX (1 TO 7): RADICAL
FLEX COMMENTS: JUST RIGHT
ADDITIONAL FLEX COMMENT: Fairly stiff but had much more flex than I expected just by looking at how thick it is
RATE THE STABILITY (1 TO 7): 6
STABILITY COMMENTS: PRETTY GOOD
ADDITIONAL STABILITY COMMENT: Double concave had a nice feel in the powder and I imagine has an impact on how well you can bite into the snow as you roll the board into a carve
ADDITIONAL POP/ PLAYFULNESS COMMENT: Only played with pumping and trying to pop ollies and shove its a bit towards the bottom of my runs so I don’t have enough experience to rate how it performed. Would love to spend more time on one of these to work on bindingless ollie technique
RATE THE FLOAT IN POWDER (1 TO 7)): RADICAL
RATE THE FLOAT IN POWDER (1 TO 7): EFFORTLESSLY FLOATY
RATE THE GRAPHICS (1 TO 7): RADICAL
RATE THE GRAPHICS COMMENT: AESTHETIC AND INSPIRING
ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS COMMENT: Love the mountain cutout on the foot pad and all of the die-sub base graphics are awesome
