Description
TESTER: Tyler Macleod
BOARD: Nitro Banker 159
TEST YEAR: 2019 SHAPERSUMMIT SNOWBOARD REVIEWS
OVERALL IMPRESSION FROM 1 TO 7: 6
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: I could ride this board anywhere and everywhere. Just a well-rounded all-mountain ripper.
WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: It was just a tad stiff for my taste with it being a 159, but even then I still adjusted pretty quickly.
OVERALL COMMENTS: Just a stable, predictable board that could rail fast turns, stay afloat, and rally through chunder with ease.
BOARD STYLE: FREERIDE BOARD
CONDITIONS TESTED IN: HARDPACK ICE POWDER
RATE THE SHAPE FROM 1 TO 7: 6
SHAPE COMMENT: AT THING OF BEAUTY
ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS: Classic, directional profile. Nothing fancy or gimmicky here. She’s a beaut.
RATE THE FLEX FROM 1 TO 7: 6
FLEX COMMENT: TOO STIFF
ADDITIONAL FLEX COMMENT: A tad too stiff for my liking, but it is a 159, and I’m not a huge guy by any means. If I put on a few pounds (and I probably could!) I would have felt way more confident.
RATE STABILITY THROUGH TURNS FROM 1 TO 7: 6
STABILITY COMMENT: ROCK SOLID- AS GOOD AS IT GETS
ADDITIONAL STABILITY COMMENTS: So stable. I had no issue straight-lining through the late afternoon chop.
RATE THE POP/ PLAYFULNESS FROM 1 TO 7: 5
COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS: PRETTY DARN FUN
ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS: Not super playful, but definitely had some pop. I had to be on top of my game hitting sidehits on it, but it was still a total blast. Definitely has a freestyle spirit.
RATE FLOAT IN POW FROM 1 TO 7: 6
COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: EASY TO STAY UP
ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: No real issues here. Floated with ease.
RATE THE GRAPHICS FROM 1 TO 7: 7
GRAPHICS COMMENT: AESTHETIC AND INSPIRING
ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS COMMENTS: Love it. Clean top sheet with a beautiful, color popping base. Really dig the unified aesthetics across the Quiver line.
