Nitro Squash 159 Snowboard Review 2018-2019
Description
TESTER: Chris Pearson
BOARD: Nitro Squash 159
OVERALL IMPRESSION FROM 1 TO 7: 4
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: Really nice looking shape
WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: I had a hard time getting this board to carve the lines I wanted it to. I felt like the sidecut and flex of the camber weren’t really working for me to hold a smooth arc and I ended up booting out a couple of times trying to dig deeper into the carve.
OVERALL COMMENTS: I wasn’t as in love with this board as I thought I was going to be. Maybe it was user error, maybe I was just coming off some wider boards that worked with my boots better, but I just couldn’t quite connect with this board like I thought I would. Still had some fun ripping around on the board but its carving characteristics weren’t really up my alley
RATE THE SHAPE FROM 1 TO 7: 5
SHAPE COMMENT: FUN TO LOOK AT
ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS: Cool shape, I like the squared off features with the blunt nose and shallow swallow tail
RATE THE FLEX FROM 1 TO 7: OK
FLEX COMMENT: TOO STIFF
ADDITIONAL FLEX COMMENT: The camber profile seemed a little funny, like it raised up steeper between the feet than outside the bindings. I had a lot more fun on other boards of a similar shape that had camber profiles which are a bit flatter between the bindings and most of the curvature and spring is focused outside the bindings. That seems to give a better flex profile for my taste.
RATE STABILITY THROUGH TURNS FROM 1 TO 7: 6

RATE THE GRAPHICS FROM 1 TO 7: 6
GRAPHICS COMMENT: I’M FEELING IT
ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS COMMENTS: I like the simplicity of it and I like the surf inspired stringer down the middle
