Ride Powgoda 162 Snowboard Review 2018-2019

Description

TESTER: Levi Johnson

BOARD: Ride Powgoda 162

OVERALL IMPRESSION FROM  1 TO 7:  2

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: The graphic

WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: It took a lot of effort to turn.

OVERALL COMMENTS: I really didn’t like this board. It was huge with a shallow sidecute, a small effective edge, and a lunch tray to turn. I understand the concept and think this board would be really fun in deep untracked powder, but that’s the only conditions for this board.

RATE THE SHAPE FROM 1 TO 7:  5

SHAPE COMMENT: FUN TO LOOK AT

ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS:  I like the way it looks. The brand is sort of a boat or sailing theme and it’s definitely a boat.

RATE THE FLEX FROM 1 TO 7:   OK

FLEX COMMENT:  TOO STIFF

ADDITIONAL FLEX COMMENT:  Nose to tail the flex is ok, but torsionally is way to stiff.

RATE STABILITY THROUGH TURNS FROM 1 TO 7:   SUCKS

STABILITY COMMENT: WHY DID I RIDE THIS THING

ADDITIONAL STABILITY COMMENTS: It was pretty hard pack with lots of chunder when I road this, and it’s definitely not a board built for those conditions.

RATE THE POP/ PLAYFULNESS FROM 1 TO 7:  OK

COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS:

ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS:  Had ok pop, but wasn’t playful at all.

RATE FLOAT IN POW FROM 1 TO 7:    RADICAL

COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: EFFORTLESSLY FLOATY

ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: I didn’t get to ride it in pow, but I’m almost sure it would float great.

RATE THE GRAPHICS FROM 1 TO 7:  6

GRAPHICS COMMENT: I’M FEELING IT

ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS COMMENTS: Best thing about the board.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SAY: Me not being a very big guy and the conditions definitely didn’t do this board any favors. I would like to try it agin maybe in some mellow back country or on a 12”+ day because I think that’s really what the idea for this board was.
