Description
TESTER: Ian Haney
BOARD: Rossignol Shashimi 156
TEST YEAR: 2019 SHAPERSUMMIT SNOWBOARD REVIEWS
OVERALL IMPRESSION FROM 1 TO 7: 6
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: Very smooth and easy to ride in variable conditions. Urethane is a fantastic material imo
WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: Lots of taper. Would be interested to try a slightly larger size or a little less taper, back foot is pretty narrow and tail can be a little bit washy
OVERALL COMMENTS: Very fun easy to ride board. Great for long runs in variable conditions. Floats well for being on the shorter side and holds its line well. I’d like to see a bit more width under the back foot is all
BOARD STYLE: POWDER BOARD FREERIDE BOARD
CONDITIONS TESTED IN: HARDPACK POWDER
RATE THE SHAPE FROM 1 TO 7: 6
SHAPE COMMENT: FUN TO LOOK AT
ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS: Holds true to the sushi/fish look
RATE THE FLEX FROM 1 TO 7: 7
FLEX COMMENT: JUST RIGHT
ADDITIONAL FLEX COMMENT: Pretty perfect
RATE STABILITY THROUGH TURNS FROM 1 TO 7: 6
STABILITY COMMENT: ROCK SOLID- AS GOOD AS IT GETS
ADDITIONAL STABILITY COMMENTS: Can’t ask for more out of a 156
RATE THE POP/ PLAYFULNESS FROM 1 TO 7: 5
COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS: PRETTY DARN FUN
ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS: Felt pretty lively. Less material in the tail due to the width makes it feel a bit less snappy than others
RATE FLOAT IN POW FROM 1 TO 7: 6
COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: EASY TO STAY UP
ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: Huge nose and large taper makes it easy to stay on top.
RATE THE GRAPHICS FROM 1 TO 7: 5
GRAPHICS COMMENT: I’M FEELING IT
ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS COMMENTS: Like the variety of colors available. Little bit louder than what I’d normally lean towards, but love that you can see the construction of the board.
