VENTURE ODIN 160 SNOWBOARD REVIEW 2015
Description
TESTER NAME: BRENT FULLERTON
BOARD: VENTURE ODIN 160
RATING: RADICAL
OVERALL: Excels in big terrain.
SHAPE: The directional shape gave it effortless float in powder, this board was quick edge to edge when making critical turns. The moderate sidecut is great for bigger lines, allowing for fewer, bigger arched turns down the fall line. Considering Johan’s riding style this board makes perfect sense
FLEX: The nose was soft enough in the powder to stay afloat and plenty stable while riding hardpack and chunder. The flex through the midsection is perfect- stiff and stable but still has enough torsional flex to help turn in tight spots. The tail flex felt stiff and responsive- powered out of turns great and plenty of stability for stomping landings.
GRAPHICS: Like all venture decks its all in the performance
STABILITY: Extremely stable lots of power through turns in everything from pow, chop, chunder, slush, hard pack. A big mountain board should be able to rip in all snow conditions and the Odin does just that.
POP/PLAYFULNESS: Strong pop easy to load up. the playfulness of the Odin shines in the fall line on natural features.
FLOAT IN POW: The slight taper, set back stance, and directional shape combine for great float.
THE LAST WORD: Without any prior knowledge of this board(besides the fact that Johan was involved in the design) its character revealed itself immediately. An extremely versatile big mountain board prepared for all conditions.
