WINTERSTICK ARK SNOWBOARD REVIEW 2018-2019
Description
TESTER: Knut Carter
BOARD BRAND: Winterstick
MODEL NAME: ARK
SIZE: 164
OVERALL IMPRESSION: RADICAL
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD? Stiff and big for deep pow
WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD? Kind of big for tight areas
OVERALL COMMENTS: Perfect board for the biggest lines. Great for stomping big cliffs
BOARD STYLE: FREERIDE BOARD
CONDITIONS TESTED IN: HARDPACK, ICE, POWDER
RATE THE SHAPE (1 TO 7): RADICAL
SHAPE COMMENTS: AT THING OF BEAUTY
ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS: Perfect shape to ride big mountains with open terrain and big drops. The nose is great for float ant the tail is great for landings and staying in control. Same as the 58 Ark but more stable at high speeds. Great shape for hard charging open lines. Yet still great in trees with some room to turn.
RATE THE FLEX (1 TO 7): RADICAL
FLEX COMMENTS: JUST RIGHT
ADDITIONAL FLEX COMMENT: Seemed to be stiffer than the 58 Ark. Which is great for bigger cliff landings.
RATE THE STABILITY (1 TO 7): RADICAL
STABILITY COMMENTS: ROCK SOLID- AS GOOD AS IT GETS
ADDITIONAL STABILITY COMMENT: As stable as it gets. Felt safe at high speeds in hard pack and powder. Easy to land on big jumps.
RATE THE POP/PLAYFULNESS (1 TO 7): RADICAL
POP/ PLAYFULNESS COMMENTS: PRETTY DARN FUN
ADDITIONAL POP/ PLAYFULNESS COMMENT: Great pop. Not as playful as the 58 Ark. Probably would be more playful for a bigger guy.
RATE THE FLOAT IN POWDER (1 TO 7)): RADICAL
RATE THE FLOAT IN POWDER (1 TO 7): EFFORTLESSLY FLOATY
ADDITIONAL FLOAT IN POWDER COMMENT: I think it would float in the deepest pow. The nose is just wide enough to stay up yet strong enough to be stable over bumps. The tail keeps you anchored and is strong enough to keep you up when conditions change
RATE THE GRAPHICS (1 TO 7): RADICAL
RATE THE GRAPHICS COMMENT: AESTHETIC AND INSPIRING
ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS COMMENT: Art piece to hang on your wall
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SAY? Very well made. Hard charging board. I would love to ride it on the very deep days!
