TESTER: Tyler Macleod

BOARD: World Boards Mountain Slayer 160

TEST YEAR:   2019 SHAPERSUMMIT SNOWBOARD REVIEWS

OVERALL IMPRESSION FROM  1 TO 7:  7

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: No gimmicks here. Just a standard, tried and true snowboard design that does absolutely everything (and does it well).

WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS BOARD?: The fact that I don’t own one.

OVERALL COMMENTS: Jay crushed it with this board. I’m so stoked to see the Never Summer construction with good old tried and true camber. This board is a true go anywhere, do anything rig. I could easily see myself riding it on rails and in the park too.

BOARD STYLE:    FREERIDE BOARD

CONDITIONS TESTED IN: HARDPACK  ICE  POWDER

RATE THE SHAPE FROM 1 TO 7:  5

SHAPE COMMENT: NOT JUST GOOD BUT GOOD ENOUGH

ADDITIONAL SHAPE COMMENTS:  Nothing fancy. Just a traditional board shape, and that’s totally cool with me.

RATE THE FLEX FROM 1 TO 7:   6

FLEX COMMENT:  JUST RIGHT

ADDITIONAL FLEX COMMENT:  Stiff but still predicatable and playful enough to trick off of hits.

RATE STABILITY THROUGH TURNS FROM 1 TO 7:  7

STABILITY COMMENT: ROCK SOLID- AS GOOD AS IT GETS

ADDITIONAL STABILITY COMMENTS: So frickin stable. Maybe the mos stable board I rode all week. This thing is a beast.

RATE THE POP/ PLAYFULNESS FROM 1 TO 7:  6

COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS: PRETTY DARN FUN

ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON PLAYFULNESS:  Not the most playful deck, but packed plenty of pop. Just an aggressive rig that still has a freestyle spirit.

RATE FLOAT IN POW FROM 1 TO 7:  6

COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: EASY TO STAY UP

ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON FLOAT IN POW: Surprised at how well it floated with it not being a “powder” shape. So much so, that I couldn’t get off of it today. It mashed through the think snow with ease.

RATE THE GRAPHICS FROM 1 TO 7:  7

GRAPHICS COMMENT: AESTHETIC AND INSPIRING

ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS COMMENTS: Love the Bridger graphics. What Jay is doing with these decks is so sick. This is going to be a collector’s item for any local for sure.
