ROME MT. POW 154 SNOWBOARD REVIEW 2016
TESTER NAME: Gary Hansen
BOARD BRAND: Rome
MODEL NAME: MT. Pow
BOARD SIZE (CM): 154
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Radical
OVERALL COMMENTS: Ultra-light Skatey Surf Slasher. Euro Blast to revert whiteroom all day! Softer flex for low speed fun but handled suprisingly well on the Sundance and Gros Ventre groomers. nice regular camber feel out the back of the board. Fun Forgiving, and Slash worthy.
RATE THE SHAPE: 5
SHAPE COMMENT: Sick, cant wait to get the 154 or larger one on my Pow Zone!
RATE THE FLEX: 3
FLEX COMMENT: Medium flex, torsionally also medium. easy to engage a turn at any speed. Maybe a little soft for Jackson and me at 175lbs riding the 154, but one hell of a fun feel!
RATE STABILITY/POWER THROUGH TURNS: 2
STABILITY COMMENT: its light, its turns fast. and it is a little loose with the short contact and the 3D beveling up front. Classic tail centered riding and shortened edge contact. Designed I am sure to ride ultra short and nimble.
RATE THE GRAPHICS: 2
GRAPHICS COMMENT: Subdued. mellow almost. but someone who rides this board is not looking at the topsheet, they are looking at the shape and outline!
RATE THE POP/PLAYFULNESS: 3
POP/PLAYFULNESS COMMENT: softer at Jackson. Super poppy and playful. Fun but easy to over load energy in these small contact boards!
RATE FLOATINESS IN POWDER: 3
FLOATINESS COMMENT: not Sure but I bet that big spoon does alright!!
ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE TO MAKE IT BETTER? I would like the same style board but maybe in a 161 with maybe a little beefier glass.
